What type of ID do I need to get a library card? Check out a book?

Johnston County residents can obtain free library cards any time. Please click here to learn fees associated with cards for non-Town of Clayton taxpayers.  You will need an updated driver’s license with your current address. If you do not have a current ID, you can bring in a current utility bill reflecting your address and use that along with your most recent photo ID. After you receive your library card, you will need to bring it with you to the library to check-out books. On occasion, if you do forget your library card we can use your updated ID to verify at checkout. Please note that for computer use, you will need your library card.
